There is always a little Rome in the Ford of Magné ... Located on the lower side of the old island of Magné, on the edge of the old Sèvre (also called Bras de Sevreau), the Romans borrowed already this passage there are 2000 years thanks to the Roman road leading from Saintes to Angers.
Today, the ancient ford is no longer there. Since 1855, it is now a bridge that can span the old Sèvre. Along the river, the village of Gué de Magné flows quiet days at the edge of the water, in the shade of ash tadpoles and poplars. Its small communal harbor hidden in the village is a real haven of peace.
