Histoire : L'écluse permettant la liaison entre le bassin et le Rhône est construite dans les années 1860-1870. De nombreux avant-projets de pont sont dressés ; les premiers projettent la construction d'un pont tournant : en 1886 est projeté un pont flottant sur l'écluse ; des plans de 1905 et 1912 prévoient la construction d'un pont-tournant pour voie charretière et pour voie ferrée. C'est en 1919 qu'un avant-projet de pont basculant est prévu, en remplacement du pont tournant initialement prévu. La construction du pont levant, sur les projets de Bezault, date certainement de 1924.

History: The lock allowing the connection between the basin and the Rhone is built in the years 1860-1870. Numerous preliminary designs of bridge are erected; the first project the construction of a swing bridge: in 1886 is projected a floating bridge on the lock; plans for 1905 and 1912 provide for the construction of a turntable for carriageways and railways. It was in 1919 that a draft bridge was planned, replacing the originally planned swing bridge. The construction of the lift bridge, on the projects of Bezault, certainly dates from 1924.
