The town hall is – beside the Wagnerhaus – is the only house in the town that kept ist gothic – in this case late gothic – character on the outside. It is of the mid 15th century and was a community house in the beginning, that became a town hall in 1554. The delicate double-building with raised gables and a facade that is decorated with an a-secco painting (1526) as well as a gothic oriel of the time before 1500 it is today still used for conferences of the municipal council.
The conference room that was redesigned by the world-famous architect Hans Hollein in 1976 on the first floor has a magnificent stucco ceiling (around 1700) as well as fresco portrait medallions of the former judges of Perchtoldsdorf between 1530 and 1737. A famous mural (with a legend) in the mayors room shows the attack of the Turks of 1683. The right part of the building, that today contains a restaurant, shows forms of the beginning renaissance: the oriels facing the courtyard of the first floor or the roofed stairs in the courtyard.
