A family tomb holds the remains of Sgt. William Lawrence. The tomb is a small building with faux Doric style columns on each corner, a pediment with a US shield and the name LAWRENCE in bronze letters inscribed above a small door.
On the left side of the door is the inscription:
WILLIAM
ENLISTED APRIL 1861
MASS. VOL. MILITIA CO. E.
5TH REG. SERGT. AND
COLOR BEARER
KILLED IN ACTION
1ST BATTLE BULL RUN
JULY 1, 1861.
WHATEVER BETIDES THE
