"Bauarbeiten an der Wehranlage am Kurpark in Bad Neuenahr starten
Die Renaturierung der Ahr nimmt ihre nächste Etappe. Am 15. Juli beginnen die Bauarbeiten zur naturnahen Umgestaltung an der Wehranlage am Kurpark in Bad Neuenahr. Durch die Außerbetriebnahme der Wasserkraftanlage der Kur AG und die damit verbundene Änderung der Ableitungsmenge in den Mühlgraben ist die Umgestaltung des vorhandenen Betonwehres in eine gewässerökologisch wesentlich günstigere natürliche Blocksteinrampe möglich. Die Struktur- und Genehmigungsdirektion Nord führt die Maßnahme im Rahmen der Gewässerunterhaltung an der Ahr gemeinsam mit der Kreisverwaltung Ahrweiler durch. Die Bauarbeiten werden voraussichtlich acht Wochen dauern.
Umbau Wehr Kurpark Bad Neuenahr-Ahrweiler
Das Ziel ist eine frei fließende Ahr, damit alle Wanderfische wieder ungehindert zu ihren Laichplätzen im Oberlauf und in den Nebengewässern gelangen können. Anstelle des vorhandenen Betonwehres mit seitlich angebrachter Fischtreppe entsteht nun eine naturnahe, durchlässige Blocksteinrampe mit flachem Gefälle, wie sie bereits vor Jahren am Casino unterhalb der Kurgartenbrücke angelegt wurde. Sowohl Fische, wie Lachs, Bachneunauge, Forelle, Äsche oder Groppe, als auch alle im Gewässer lebenden Kleintiere, wie Krebse, Insektenlarven oder Kleine Flussmuschel, gelten als wichtig für die ökologische Artenvielfalt und profitieren gleichermaßen von der neuen Durchgängigkeit der Ahr.
Die Ahr-Renaturierung stellt eines der zentralen Projekte der Gewässerpflege im Kreis Ahrweiler dar. Bei diesem seit den frühen 90er Jahren laufenden Großprojekt, das sich über den gesamten Flussverlauf erstreckt, wurden mittlerweile 48 von insgesamt 50 Wehren und anderen Querbauwerken naturnah umgestaltet. Ebenso 48 Sohlabstürze im Stadtbereich Bad Neuenahr-Ahrweiler.

The renaturation of the Ahr takes its next stage. On July 15, the construction work for the near-natural redesign of the weir at the spa gardens in Bad Neuenahr begin. Renovation Wehr Kurpark Bad Neuenahr-Ahrweiler
The goal is a free-flowing Ahr, so that all migratory fish can get back unhindered to their spawning grounds in the upper reaches and in the tributaries. Instead of the existing concrete weir with side-mounted fish ladder now creates a semi-natural, permeable block ramp with a flat slope, as it was created years ago at the casino below the Kurgartenbrücke. The Ahr renaturation represents one of the central projects of water management in the district of Ahrweiler. In this large-scale project, which has been running since the early 1990s and extends over the entire course of the river, 48 of a total of 50 weirs and other transverse structures have been remodeled close to nature.
