A small but productive spring flows out of the ground from a small spring house, through a pipe and into a channel to fill a lake at Janssen Park in downtown Mena AR. The water is not potable (safe for humans to drink), but is fine for floating duck butts around on two lakes.

"Janssen Park
This 10-acre community park is host to an 1851 log cabin rumored to have been used as a hideout by the notorious Jesse James, and was also used as a hospital, post office, and city hall during its lifetime. The park also contains two spring fed ponds, two Mountain Howitzer Cannons, a bronze boy and girl fountain purchased in 1914 and other interesting artifacts. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places."
