This sign is located at a scenic pull-out in the Flint Hills along the Kansas Turnpike.
This waymarked sign reads:
"TALLGRASS PRAIRIE
The Flint Hills are the largest remaining intact tallgrass prairie in the world and stretches from northern Kansas into Oklahoma. hey are named for the flint that lies under the rich prairie grass, along with limestone and shale. Each summer cattle from as afar away as Mexico graze these hillsides where hundreds of thousands of bison once roamed."
