If you are doing the nearby Night Geocache, and there is any breeze, then you will no doubt hear these turbines whirring away as you walk around trying to find the reflectors.

One of the photos, is a zoomed one, of the entry hatch to Wonthaggi Turbine Generator No. 1 (WTG No.1), and by scaling the size of the steps and railing, the hatch would be 2.2 metres tall, which really puts the height of the Tower into perspective. With a diameter at the base of 3.5 meters! The height of the Australian made towers mentioned on the Wikipedia article is 66 metres. (visit link)

PLEASE post a photo from the daytime tho. (A nighttime flash-generated photo of the sign will suffice). Tours are able to taken, as when I had come back to take the daytime photos, a couple 4wds came along and went through the gate.

ACCESS: Please note, the Turbines are on Private Property, but you will be parking right beside the entry point, if you head to "Handy in the Night" - (visit link) . Drive along dirt Campbell Street, closing the gates behind you on the dirt track to Kilcunda Harmers Haven Coastal Reserve.
