Ms. Campbell is buried in the Campbell family plot here, and her father, William LaFayette Campbell, is probably the namesake for nearby Campbell Road. Her gray, granite headstone has a simple inscription:

1889 - The first jukebox appears in a saloon in San Francisco.
1899 - Scott Joplin's "Maple Leaf Rag" is trademarked, but it will take some years for it to become popular.
1909 - Joan of Arc is canonized.
1919 - The League of Nations is established, but despite Woodrow Wilson's efforts, the United States is not a member.
1929 - The Roaring Twenties stop roaring at the end of October.
1939 - Pope Pius XII takes the keys to the kingdom from Pius XI.
1949 - NATO is established.
1959 - One dictator overthrows another in Cuba.
1969 - Mario Puzo publishes "The Godfather".
1979 - Nazi criminal Josef Mengele drowns, and years later, science he would have loved is used to identify his remains.
1989 - The Ayatollah Khomeini issues a fatwa against Salman Rushdie. Khomeini dies four months later, and Rushdie is alive in 2017.
1993 - Microsoft releases Windows NT 3.1.
