As a part of commemorating 50 years of the Wangaratta Lions Club, and the work done by past members, the 'granite' boulder has two plaques, with the black one, with gilded lettering reading:
[Lions International logos]
"They Served"
Dedicated to the memory of
Deceased Lions and Lions Ladies
of the Lions Club of Wangaratta
for their Service to the
Wangaratta Community
In commemoration of 50 years of
Lionism in Wangaratta
19th March, 2006"
A second plaque, smaller, and cast bronze is on the lower section of the boulder, and reads:
"This Memorial to
"Deceased Lions and Lions Ladies"
was unveiled by
Lions Lady Ailsa Seargeant
and Dedicated by
the Right Reverend
R. David Farrer,
Bishop of Wangaratta.
Sunday, 19th March 2006"

[Until Wangaratta was bypassed, by the Hume Freeway, the Hume highway would have passed directly past this park.]
