After the decade of expansion at the end of the nineteenth century, Bountiful moved into the twentieth century with a period of city organization and improvement. Sidewalks were constructed and lots were platted out. The building at 2 north main was constructed in 1895 as the city was moving into the new century. It is of regular brick, new as an architectural material. Located just off the main square with the Bountiful Tabernacle, this building would have occupied a prime commercial spot. The style of the building is unclear and the front has been given a new facade. The front windows are floor length, if they are original, while the side windows are smaller and near ceiling height.
