This is one the eight milestones which are place on the road between Bingen and Cologne. They are made of Basalt and are shaped like an obelisk. The height of a milestone is about 2m. The distances cut into the stone are measured in Prussian miles. One mile is equivalent to 7.553km. The road at which these milestone are placed is similar to the route of todays national road B9. All milestone of section between Bingen and Koblenz are still existing. The milestone is placed near the city of Boppard in direction to the city of Spay.
