Basel Cathedral is very rich in gargoyle figures. They are all over the Cathedral.
Some are very grotesque animal figures, some of them are a mixture of animals and others are very close to human faces. Some are used as Water Spouts.
The Cathedral is being restored so most of the figures are in perfect condition.
Try to spot them up there.
We had some trouble finding information about this Gargoyles because most of our references are in German so any help that can enrich this text would be much apreciated.
Our camera doesn´t have a zoom strong enough to get close ups of the gargoyles but we discovered a very nice site (http://norman.walsh.name/2004/10/08/munster)with lot´s of pictures. We used some under the licence described bellow.
