J.D. Giddings and D.C. Giddings established their bank in 1866. It was housed in a new building at 101 East Commerce. The bank moved to this location in 1872.
The third floor was the meeting place of Brenham Chapter No. 5, Royal Arch Masons.
Giddings and Giddings operated as a privately held bank until 1930, after which they handled only financial transactions related to the Giddings estate. Giddings & Giddings closed in 1945.
This building is currently Brenham Mediation Center.
