The Big Brothers organization in Ingersoll received its charter in 1975. It opened its offices at the old town hall site in Ingersoll.
In 1982 Big Sisters of Ingersoll and District received its charter. By 1985 both organizations shared office space in the old Town Hall site on King Street.
In 1986 both organizations joined forces as Big Brothers Big Sisters of Ingersoll. Full amalgamation would come in 1991.
The Big Brothers Big Sisters organization moved to its present location in 2001. It was formerly a Seniors Drop-In Centre.
The name was changed to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Ingersoll, Tillsonburg and Area to reflect its expanded area of responsibility.

Our agency is part of a federated structure, and are supported by the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Canada national office. In 2013 we successfully completed the National Accreditation Program to ensure the highest quality of programs and services for the communities we are proud to serve. Whether it’s in the form of time or money, we believe there is no more important investment we can make than in helping Canada’s young people realize—and share—their full potential."
