Ce menhir à été déplacée, après la réalisation d'une fouille préventive en 1990 sur le tracé A75. La fosse d’implantation et le dispositif de calage (blocage de pierres) ont pu être étudiés à cette occasion. Les rares fragments de céramique découverts lors de la fouille permettent de rattacher son édification à une période chronologique assez large comprise entre le Néolithique et l'âge du Bronze.

This menhir was displaced after a preventive search was carried out in 1990 on the A75 route. The implantation pit and the blocking device (blocking of stones) could be studied on this occasion. The rare fragments of ceramic discovered during the excavation make it possible to relate its edification to a quite wide chronological period between the Neolithic and the Bronze Age.

Il était fiché dans une fosse de calage d'une profondeur de 80 cm. Comme il gênait les travaux de construction de l'A75, il a été déplacé en dehors de la commune sur l'aire de repos de Chalet.
