The Ramsey Bay Disaster Memorial Plaque on the quayside in Ramsey to commemorate the six men who were lost in the Disaster.

On the top of the white concrete pillar not far from the the SS Ellan Vannin Memorial Plaque is a dark red/brown rectangular plaque with a goldborder on which the following decication appears:

THE RAMSEY BAY DISASTER 1956

IN MEMORY OF THE MEN WHO LOST THEIR LIVES ON
THE FATEFUL NIGHT OF MARCH 7TH 1956 ON THEIR JOUNRNEY
FORM RAMSEY HARBOUR TO THE FISHING TRAWLER
"FLEETWOOD LADY" ANCHORED IN RAMSEY BAY.

The men lost, were all crew on the fishing trawler, "Fleetwood Lady", which had anchored in Ramsey Bay on 7 March 1956 so three of the men could visit their families.

All six men lost their lives when their rowing boat capsized as they returned to the trawler.

The Memorial Plaque was unvieled on 7 March 2012 at a ceremony where folloing a brief account by Ramsey Town Commissioners' administration office, John Donnelly of the events which came to be know as 'The Ramsey Bay Disaster' the plaque was unveiled by six-year old Lola Tebay, the great great grandduaghter of Eric Lyall senior.
