Former Carnegie Library, Ann Arbor, MI. This Carnegie library building, which was built in 1907, was incorporated into part of Ann Arbor High School. The building was then sold to the University of Michigan, which renamed the entire building the Frieze building. The building is horribly dilapidated and is scheduled to be torn down to make room for a new dorm and classroom building. Fortunately, an outcry over the destruction of the historic library persuaded the university to save the library portion of the building and incorporate it into the new design.
