In 2000, Lindsborg decided to cast the traditional Dala shape in large fiberglass forms – an idea patterned after Chicago’s cows on Michigan avenue. Local people and folks with Lindsborg connections sponsor each Wild Dala. Each is unconventionally decorated by one on the towns many local artists. Each new horse is feted in a public unveiling party complete with street theater and parody songs sung by the crowd.

Located outside the Season of the Fox B & B on E Swensson & 2nd Sts.
This wild Dala celebrates Kansas’ four distinct seasons, each with its own beauty. A playful, curious fox (räv in Swedish) guides onlookers through nature’s gifts. Artist Deb McGaughey interprets the seasons for Seasons of the Fox Bed and Breakfast. It’s painted with autumn leaves and a fox on one side and on the other side is a winter scene with a white fox.
Actually the autumn leaves are only one season. As you walk around it you will see all four seasons. This horse is named Dala Räv with räv meaning fox. The theme is tied to the bed and breakfast on the corner, Seasons of the Fox.
