The Varsity Drive-In opened in 1928 along US 41 (North Street) at Hemphill street. North Avenue NW/US 41 was part of the old Dixie Highway.
The Varsity quickly grew to cover 2 city blocks across from the GA Tech University campus. Construction of modern I-75 claimed the Varsity's western parking lot, forcing this iconic drive-in to build a parking garage!
Today the Varsity still serves up their famous hamburgers and chili dogs with a heaping helping of efficiency and hospitality. What'll ya have?

All combos come with fries or onion rings and a medium drink.
Varsity chili and hot dogs are 100% beef. Our fries and onion rings are made fresh from scratch daily, never frozen. Choose from 3 types of cheese; American, Swiss, or our homemade pimento cheese. Our slaw is made from the freshest cabbage and carrots, in house daily. Looking for something on the lighter side? Try a fresh garden salad made with mixed baby greens or our famous chicken salad sandwich. Going all in and looking for a dessert? You just have to try one of our amazing fried pies! And can you really say you went to The Varsity if you didn't get a Frosted Orange? We take pride in all of our ingredients and recipes and know that you will taste the difference.
