The museum focuses on saffron, which was probably brought to Mund in the 15th century by returning mercenaries and has been cultivated here since. The cultivation area of Mund is the only one in Switzerland.
DE: Das Safranmuseum von Mund befindet sich ein einem Holzgebäude neben der Kirche, der ehemalige Zehndenstadel stammt aus dem Jahr 1437 und ist eines der ältesten Holzgebäude der Schweiz.
Das Museum konzentriert sich auf Safran, der vermutlich im 15. Jahrhundert von heimkehrenden Söldnern nach Mund gebracht wurde und seither hier angebaut wird. Das Anbaugebiet von Mund ist das einzige in der Schweiz.
