EN: The Southern Lötschberg ramp hiking trail is 26 kilometers long and runs along the railway line from which it takes its name. The endpoints are the railway stations of Hohtenn and Brig. The route is divided into five stages, which together give a duration of eight and a half to nine hours. At the intermediate destinations are catering and accommodation possibilities as well as train stations.

The route leads along some spectacular railway bridges and vantage points in an alpine environment with partly already mediterranean vegetation. Also some of the well-known traditional Valais irrigation canals are encountered.

The route was refreshed in 2013 and extended from Lalden to Brig to its current total length.

This information panel stands at the west end of the Brig station and is one of the endpoints. A drawer next to the sign contains free overview maps with detailed information.
