On 4 Sep 1950, Battery C., 4th 155mm Howitzer Battalion USMCR held their last local muster at Union Station in Meridian MS before leaving to fight in the Korean War. This plaque was placed in 2000, when the members and survivors reunited here.
The plaque reads as follows:
"Monday, September 4, Labor Day, 1950 at 930 p.m., 125 local Marine Reserves of Meridian's "C" Battery, 4th 155mm Howitzer Battalion USMCR held their last local muster here at the old Union Station en route to Camp Pendleton, California and the Korean War.
Labor Day, Monday, September 4, 2000, former members, survivors and friends joined in a 50 year reunion and dedicated this plaque to all that put their lives on hold and answered their nation's call to arms."
