The 100-Years Time Capsule was placed on July 4, 1959 by the Prophetstown Centennial Committee. It is buried 8 feet under a large slab of concrete and is to be raised in 2059. A plaque was placed on top with the information.
The time capsule is located 2 blocks downstream (West)from the entrance to the Prophetstown State Park.
