The square stainless steel plate is mounted on a stone pillar that is situated at the side of a layby on Congleton Road near the junction with Mow Lane.
The marker was placed by the Rotary Club of Biddulph to commemorate the 75th anniversary of Rotary International 1905 - 1980
The engraved plate shows the direction and distance of places in Cheshire and Lancashire to the north, Staffordshire to the south, Derbyshire to the east and Shropshire to the west. There are magnificent views over the Cheshire Plain from this location.
It is located on the Gritstone Trail on the section between Timbersbrook and Kidsgrove on the ridge near to Mow Cop. (
