Schuylkill Mall was opened Oct. 9, 1980. I housed 115 stores in 800,000 square feet. It included Target, K-Mart, Sears, J.C. Penney, Bon Ton, Dunham Sports and a series of smaller stores. In 2015 the owner claimed bankruptcy and the bank took possession of the property. It was sold at Sheriff's sale on March of 2017. Almost all of the stores are gone, with the exception of a large 8-Theatre complex and Dunham Sports. No one knows what will happen, the developer, Northpoint Development LLC of Riverside, Missouri has not divulged their plans.
