This multiple residence purple martin sanctuary is located in Dick bell Park in Nepean, Ontario, Canada. There is a plaque next to it detailing the species, it's habits, territory, and means of identification. Each spring, the birds return from wintering down south. Every July, members of the Innis Point Bird Observatory join volunteer Peter Huszcz in banding all the babies before they fledge. Besides the usual mallards and Canada Geese found in these watery areas, there are also frequent sightings of Great Blue Herons.
