The Windmill pub located on Hilderstone Road in Meir Heath, takes its name from the actual windmill that still stands in the car park. There are two pub signs, one mounted on the wall of the building and a free standing pillory sign located at the entrance to the car park. The signs depict a painting of a white washed tower with sails.
Sadly the actual windmill does not have sails but the tower has been renovated by the Windmill Preservation Society. According to the pubs website it is the only Windmill pub with an actual windmill on site.
Old photographs of the windmill and inn can be seen on the website at the following link. (
