About the city Euskirchen:
"Euskirchen has already been granted city rights as early as 1302 and is now home to more than 56,000 inhabitants and is the seat of numerous central facilities and the center of a region with a supply area of more than 190,000 people. Parts of the old city walls and three defensive towers, which belonged to the city fortifications, are present and stand next to buildings of modern architecture. The pedestrian zone stretches within the medieval town wall. The mother tongue of the native Euskirchener is the Eifeler Platt, which has different characteristics than the popular Cologne Platt in the region. The name Euskirchen is emphasized on the first syllable. "
