[FR] L’édifice a la particularité de présenter une enveloppe de briques dans un style Art déco très sobre réalisée par l’entreprise locale Poulenat. La salle des vannes trapézoïdale est accessible par un escalier extérieur donnant sur un ensemble de cinq baies disposées sous un arc de briques en plein cintre. Cette salle possède une corniche en léger décrochement soulignée par de petits créneaux en brique très espacés, rappelant le décor au sommet du fût.

Le réservoir est directement installé sur le plafond de la voûte de la salle du rez-de-chaussée et prend la forme d’une tour. Au-dessus se trouve un espace libre permettant en cas de besoin d’intervenir sur le haut de la cuve. Une enveloppe décorative en briques revêt l’ossature de béton.

A l’intérieur du château d’eau, en haut de la coupole, on trouve l’inscription : « 1935 LARADIA ou LABADIA MARIAUM ». Il pourrait s’agir du nom du chef de chantier.

Le système, initialement prévu, d’utilisation du premier réservoir en complément, n’a jamais fonctionné même si le raccordement entre les deux structures a bien été fait. Actuellement, le château d’eau assure l’approvisionnement du centre-bourg mais à une faible pression ne correspondant pas aux normes en usage. C’est pourquoi le réseau d’eau potable doit être basculé sur celui de Merveranges, celui de Boussac n’assurant plus que la distribution nécessaire au service public de la ville et aux bornes incendie. Le bâtiment nécessite une restauration, notamment de son enveloppe en briques.
[EN]The building has the particularity of presenting a brick envelope in a very sober Art Deco style realized by the local company Poulenat. The trapezoidal gate room is accessed via an external staircase overlooking a set of five bays arranged under a semi-circular brick arch. This room has a cornice in slight relief highlighted by small brick battlements very spaced, recalling the decoration at the top of the barrel.

The tank is directly installed on the ceiling of the vault of the ground floor room and takes the form of a tower. Above this there is a free space allowing, if necessary, to intervene on the top of the tank. A decorative brick envelope covers the concrete skeleton.

Inside the water tower, at the top of the dome, there is the inscription "1935 LARADIA or LABADIA MARIAUM". This could be the name of the site supervisor.

The system, initially planned, of using the first tank in addition, never worked even if the connection between the two structures has been made. At present, the water tower is used to supply the town center but at a low pressure that does not correspond to the standards in use. This is why the drinking water system must be switched over to that of Merveranges, that of Boussac only ensuring the necessary distribution to the public service of the city and to the fire hydrants. The building requires a restoration, including its brick envelope.
