The Connecticut Memorial stands in the Andersonville National Cemetery which is adjacent to the Andersonville National Historic Park.

The Connecticut Monument stands on the hallowed grounds of the Andersonville National Cemetery. The monument stands in tribute to the 258 Union Soldiers who died while imprisoned at the Andersonville Civil War prison and are buried here. The monument features the statue of a Union Soldier standing atop a granite base. Two bronze plaques are affixed to the base of the monument. One features the Connecticut Code of Arms while the other features the inscription:

IN MEMORY OF THE MEN OF CONNECTICUT WHO SUFFERED IN SOUTHERN MILITARY PRISONS 1861-1865.

The Connecticut Memorial was dedicated on October 23, 1907.
