There are three cemeteries here, and the Pottawatomie-Seminole County line divides them. Konawa Cemetery is east, across N3500 Road in Seminole County, while Violet Springs Cemetery flanks the Bates Cemetery. Findagrave lists Bates as being in Asher, which is probably due to its being in in Pottawatomie County, but it is much closer to Konawa and Seminole County.
Interesting to note are a few burials of members of the Autry family. Samuel Walter Autry and his wife, Relly, are linked to the Bates family through their daughter, Ida, who married M.F. Bates. All four are buried here, and yes, this is the same family that gave us Gene Autry, "The Singing Cowboy." Samuel Walter Autry and Elijah William Autry, Gene's paternal grandfather, were brothers.
