The Glenisla Golf Club was built in the late nineties, on farmland just east of the town of Alyth in Perthshire and across the B954 road from Alyth Golf Club. The course was set on rolling ground with three lakes and the Alyth Burn providing a hazard.
The club went through numerous changes of ownership during the next fifteen years before succumbing to developers in late 2016.
However, the back nine holes which were situated opposite the road from Alyth Golf Club were bought by the club during a vote amongst members in early 2017. The course now beginning from the nearby 15th tee and going 15-18, then 10-14. The former clubhouse is now a restaurant. There are two short holes and one par 5, the former 12th, now the 7th, 612 yards long and called 'The Monster'. The course can be played as 18 holes from two different sets of tees.
