The Fall Creek Suspension Bridge is a pedestrian footbridge that spans the Fall Creek Gorge, a part of the hanging valley formed where Fall Creek passes through the glacial trough of Cayuga Lake. The bridge was designed by structural engineers William McGuire and S.C. Hollister, both professors of civil engineering at Cornell University.
The single span bridge is 270' long and supported by wire cables. The bridge is enclosed by wire mesh to prevent persons from accidentally or purposefully falling from the bridge.
