The Church Guild was formed in 1939 and by fundraising a manse was built in 1940 with weekly services being held in St Paul's Anglican Church. By 1953, enough funds had been amassed to build the hall adjacent to the manse, which was opened on 16 May 1953. Services were held in the hall until the new church was constructed in the 1980's
