Das Felix-Nussbaum-Haus Osnabrück ist ein Museum im niedersächsischen Osnabrück. Es beherbergt mehr als 200 Werke des Malers Felix Nussbaum und ist damit die weltweit größte Sammlung seiner Bilder.

Am 16. Juli 1998 wurde das Felix-Nussbaum-Haus eröffnet. Das Gebäude wurde nach den Plänen des amerikanisch-jüdischen Architekten Daniel Libeskind errichtet, der die Architektur eng mit dem tragischen Leben des Künstlers und dessen Tod im KZ Auschwitz verknüpft. Libeskind konnte sich mit seinem Konzept, das er als „Museum ohne Ausgang“ bezeichnete, im Rahmen eines 1994 ausgeschriebenen Wettbewerbes zum Bau des Museums gegen 295 Teilnehmer durchsetzen. Zur Begründung der Preisvergabe führte die Jury an, dass Daniel Libeskind das Museum in einen übergeordneten Zusammenhang stelle, der konzeptionell versuche, „das Leben und das Werk Felix Nussbaums zu verräumlichen“. Das Felix-Nussbaum-Haus war das erste Gebäude, das von ihm erbaut und eröffnet wurde.

Im Mai 2011 wurde für drei Millionen Euro ein Erweiterungsgebäude errichtet. Ein zu zwei Dritteln aus Glas bestehender Gang verbindet das Felix-Nussbaum-Haus mit dem übrigen Museumskomplex, bestehend aus dem Felix-Nussbaum-Haus, dem Akzisehaus, der Villa Schlikker und dem Kulturgeschichtlichen Museum. Libeskind eröffnete persönlich den Neubau. [...] Die Fenster des Erweiterungsbaus wirken wie zersplittert in die Fassade eingefügt.

On 16th of July 1998 the Felix-Nussbaum-Haus was opened. The building was constructed after plans of the american jewish architect Daniel Libeskind who connects the architecture closely to the tragic life of the painter and his death in the concentration camp Auschwitz. Libeskind won the competition of 1994 to design the museum against 295 other participants with his concept which he titled „museum without exit". One of the reasons for the jury to vote for his concept was thats Daniel Libeskind put the museum in an overarching connection that tried conceptually to „show life and work of Felix Nussbaum as a room“. Felix-Nussbaum-Haus was the first building he designed and opened.

In May 2011 an additional wing was errected for three million euros. A corridor consisting of two thirds of glas connects the Felix-Nussbaum-Haus with the rest of the museum (which is the Felix-Nussbaum-Haus, the Akzisehaus, the Villa Schlikker and the cultural history museum). Libeskind personally opened the new wing. [...] The windows of the additional wing seem to be fragmented and fit into the fassade.
