** CAUTION **
While there is a little bit of a track from the car park to this orientation table, the trig point is unfenced, so take SPECIAL care of any minors that may be with you! (If you look closely at the top right of the main photo, you will see that you are looking down towards trees near the Nepean River, at least 100 metres below you!)

The Mount Portal Trail can be driven in a 2-wheel drive car, but care is required if you have, a) low profile tyres, or b) low clearance, or c) towing a trailer or caravan. Also, entry fee for vehicles is $8. **

While the 'table' doesn't have the details of the creator, being so well shaped to fit, and having the holes in it for the mounting of surveying equipment, I would NOT be surprised if this was placed by the Central Mapping Authority (of NSW - whatever their name is now).

Starting from North, clockwise the points and direction lines are:
* North
- Richmond 24 km
- Emu Plains 5 km
- Newcastle 144 km (not visible, but the direction)
- Penrith 6 km
- Palm Beach 67 km (no chance of being visible!)
- Hornsby 43 km
- St Marys 13 km
* East
- Parramatta 34 km
- Sydney 54 km
- Liverpool 31 km
- Campbelltown 35 km
- Wollongong 83 km (NO CHANCE of being visible!)
* South
* West
- Blackheath 38 km (not visible)
