The bronze tablets on the wall bears following inscriptions in Czech:

Hrad Budyne nad Ohrí

Puvodne drevený hrad byl majetkem
ceských panovníku.
Pocátkem 13. století jej prestavel
král Premysl Otakar I z kamene
v gotickém slohu. Jan Lucemburský
predal budynský Vodní hrad Zajícum
z Hazmburka. Za jejich vlády na Budyni
doznal hrad i celé panství nejvetšího
rozvoje. Vodní hrad byl v majetku Zajícu
z Hazmburka až do roku 1613, kdy ho byli
nuceni prodat rodine Šternberku.
Posledním šlechtickým majitelem se
stala rodina Herbersteinu, kterí
provedli záasadní rekonstrukci v letech
1900-1913. R. 1946 se stal Vodní hrad
majetkem mesta Budyne nad Ohrí a do
soucasné podoby byl rekonstruován od
roku 1975 a rekonstrukce okolních
hradeb byla zahájena v devadesátych
letech 20. století. Po uplatneném
restitucním nároku rodiny
Herbersteinu byl soudem definitivne
priznán Vodní hrad 27.zárí 1994 do
vlastnictví mesta.

Castle Budyne nad Ohrí

Originally a wooden castle was property
of Czech rulers.
The king Premysl Otakar I rebuilt castle
of stone in a Gothic style
at the beginning of the 13th century.
King John of Luxembourg
handed Budyne Water castle to Zajíc
of Hazmburk. During their rule over Budyne
was the castle and whole dominion flourishing.
The Water castle was in the possession of the Zajíc
of Hazmburk family until 1613, when they were
forced to sell it to the Sternberk family.
The last noble owner
was the family of Herberstein who
have reconstructed castle into its
current appearance in years 1900-1913.
Water Castle became a property of
the town of Budyne nad Ohrí in 1946.
To the present form it was reconstructed from
1975 and the restoration of the surrounding
fortification began in the nineties
of the 20th century. After unsuccessful applying
of Herberstein family restitution claim
was ownership of the Water Castle definitively
confirmed to the town by court on December 27, 1994.
