EN: As a multipurpose boat, numerous different types of watercraft are described, which can be used for more than one task area. The term is thus generally held. In Germany, DIN 14961 exists, in which the multi-purpose boat is standardized as a boat type.
Due to the need for a uniform systematization and comparability of the vehicles as well as insurance grounds, DIN 14961 and DIN 1492 were developed for the fire brigades. They specify more detailed building regulations for the boats or boat-mounted boats used. Other aid organizations such as the Wasserwacht, DLRG and the technical aid agency also use boats according to this standard. These multi-purpose boats (MZB), also called A-Boot, are made of wood, aluminum or glass-fiber reinforced plastic in bent-edge or three-keel construction. It can be transported on a standard boat slip-on trailer or trailer (WLF) according to DIN 14962. However, the exact equipment and design varies slightly depending on the auxiliary equipment.
In the case of fire brigades, the multipurpose boats are used primarily for the rescue of animals and humans, for the recovery of water and objects and for the transport of agents and persons. However, an MZB can also be used in environmental protection, eg in the case of oil spills, as well as in the case of extinguishing and fumes. For this purpose the boats have, among other things, extinguishing faucets, lifejackets and floodlights. In the fuselage there is a permanently installed A-suction port, through which the water can be taken out of the body of water with a portable pump.
MZBs are semi-slides. At full capacity, however, they no longer reach the gliding distance. Some multi-purpose boats have bow flaps, which can be lowered to save human beings. Thus, the persons to be rescued no longer have to be pulled over the rail.
