This sculpture is #44 on the list provided for this category and is one of three sculptures listed for the state of Florida on the "Peter Wolf Toth's Trail of Whispering Giants" list. It is not listed on the Smithsonian Institution's Artist Inventory. It is located in DC Alexander Park in Fort Lauderdale, FL. There is no plaque or sign near the statue other than the plaque up the street that names the park. He is facing east so he can watch the sun rise over the ocean every morning.
After this waymark was approved, buffaloman was kind enough to send us some information about this sculpture that he copied from a Peter Toth book of his. The information he sent is as follows: "his 30-foot sculpture honoring the Seminoles and other Indian tribes." "finished in May 1983, located on scenic Route A1A in Alexander Park is dedicated with Seminole Indians (named) - Monument out of cypress."
