BAD BREISIG.

The Nikolausmarkt in Oberbreisig develops its very special charm after dark. Then there are many picturesque places around the parish church of St. Viktor in the half-timbered building, where the pre-Christmas atmosphere can be enjoyed.
Enjoyment is of course also guaranteed with mulled wine, döppekooche, smoked trout or chestnuts, which are offered at the numerous stalls. "This is quite nice," says Dirk Reuter, market manager at the Aligning Traffic and Beautification Association. However, he also knows that it is becoming increasingly difficult to find "appropriate stands" for the market.
"Handyschalen or other crimes but us not in the village", one holds in Oberbreisig on the pre-Christmas concept. But a little more arts and crafts suited to Christmas, one could well imagine the Nikolausmarkt. One of the picturesque squares was the festively decorated courtyard of the bakery castle.
In addition to goodies there were also freshly mixed cocktails and a performance of the clown, balloon artist and Stelzenmanns "Walfelino". Mayor Bernd Weidenbach and Fountain Queen Anne I. Kraus had opened the market on Saturday afternoon.
Trademarks of the Nikolausmarkt are also the noble drops not only from the Ahr, which the wine-growing brotherhood. There was also lively entertainment in the neighboring singing hall. The Catholic women's community of St. Viktor invited to coffee and cake and also presented a small Christmas basement.
The Nikolausmarkt was framed on Saturday and Sunday by the entourage Günnie, and there were performances by the gospel choir of the evangelical church community of Bad Breisig, the church choir Cäcilia and the Männergesangverein. But also the children's choir "Zissener Bengels" and the "Fidele Lähmdeuwele" had their performances.
