01/01/1956 by NGS (GOOD) DESCRIBED BY NATIONAL GEODETIC SURVEY 1956 8.6 MI NE FROM LOUELLEN. 9.65 MILES NORTHEAST AND EAST ALONG ROAD FOLLOWING FUGITT CREEK AND UP WEST SLOPE AND OVER TOP OF BLACK MOUNTAIN FROM THE JUNCTION OF STATE HIGHWAY 38 AND SCHOOL AT LOUELLEN, 3.35 MILES WEST AND NORTHWEST OF A ROCK FORMATION KNOWN LOCALLY AS ROCKHOUSE, 1.1 MILES NORTHWEST OF THE JUNCTION OF A LOGGING ROAD WEST, 30 FEET SOUTH OF CENTER OF ROAD, AT RIGHT ANGLE ACROSS ROAD FROM A VERY LARGE ROCK IN A GROUP OF ROCKS, SET IN THE TOP AND 6 INCHES SOUTHEAST OF THE NORTHWEST EDGE OF A 10 BY 12-FOOT AND 4-FOOT HIGH OUTCROP, 6.5 FEET SOUTHWEST OF NORTH CORNER OF OUTCROP AND ABOUT 2 FEET BELOW LEVEL OF ROAD.
Located across the road (Black Mountain Ridge Road) from the Indian Camp Rock, about 20 feet from the center. The road is more of a trail in this part, and 8.75 miles following Black Mountain Ridge Road in from the Kentucky/Virginia State line at the KY High Point from Highway 160. Benchmark was covered under decades of moss and dirt, but located as described from it's data base on geocaching.com
