Text auf der Infotafel:
"LADIS SCHWARTZ
1920 Temeswar, Rumänien - 1991 Bonn
OTIYOT 1987 - 1990
Bronze

"LADIS SCHWARTZ

OTIYOT 1987 - 1990
Bronze
The bronze sculpture 'Otiyot' does not seem monumental despite its size of more than three meters. The openings give it a transparency and lightness, which is also shown in the swinging overall shape. Within the semi-natural, semi-architectural environment, so to speak, the dematerialized plastic acts as a cipher. 'Otiyot' means 'letter' in Hebrew. To this extent, the sculpture is more than a self-sufficient formal-artistic event. According to Ladis Schwartz, it transports the reference to Jewish culture and its destruction in the Holocaust."
