Thomasons Bridge No 22 is located on the Llangollen Canal Branch of Shropshire Union Canal. It is an accommodation bridge built of brick with stone copings on the top. It is situated between Marbury Lock No 10 a mile south and Wrenbury Lift Bridge No 20 a quarter of a mile southeast.
The Llangollen Canal is a narrow canal and is part of the Shropshire Union Canal. It runs for 46 miles through 21 locks from Llantisilio - Horseshoe Falls (which is a dead end) to Hurleston Junction (where it joins the Shropshire Union Canal (Chester Canal - Nantwich to Bunbury)).
