In 1936 Mrs John S Boyle laid out a pleasure park in memory of her late husband, a Forfarian, who had been a successful fish merchant in Glasgow. The result was the Boyle Park with a bowling green, putting green, children play area and floral displays.
Nowadays the park is less grand, but the bowling green survives, one of three left in the town and the only one available to the general public, the club became semi-private in 1989, but the public can still play for a small fee.
The green is situated in the west end of the town off the Glamis Road.
