"The cathedral, also called Münsterbasilika, is the Catholic main church in Bonn and a landmark of the city, built in the 11th century as a Romanesque church of St. Cassius and Florentius of the Cassius monastery, after the secularisation of the monastery at the beginning of the 19th century. Century and the demolition of the adjoining parish church of St. Martin in 1812, the Münster became the property of the St. Martin parish.
