The town of Royan paid a very heavy tribe to the 39-45 war. The city was completely destroyed by the bombing. The German military pocket did not surrender until the end of the war.
Many inhabitants were deported to the camps in Germany. The list of principal figures appears on the wall behind the statue.
la ville de Royan a payé un très lourd tribu à la guerre 39-45. La ville a été complètement détruite par les bombardements. La poche militaire Allemande ne s'est rendue qu'a la fin de la guerre.
De nombreux habitants ont été déportés vers les camps en Allemagne. La liste des principaux figurent sur le mur derrière la statue.
