This weatherbeaten old information board with map is situated at the car park for the Reekie Linn waterfall in the western part of the county of Angus in Scotland. The board is at the beginning of the precarious path that clings to the north bank of the River Isla above the gorge where the falls are situated a few hundred yards downstream.
Apart from the map showing you where you are, the board also gives information on the waterfall which is formed by the river crossing the Highland Boundary Fault and plunging from the Highlands to the Lowlands. There is also a warning about the terrain which is 150 feet above the river at the point of the fault line.
There is information on the plantlife of the area such as Wood Bitter-Vetch and Wood Sorrel.
Among the birds you can see are Dippers, Grey Wagtail, Chaffinch, Blue Tits and Buzzards.
The river at this point has Brown Trout in it but not salmon as it cannot swim up here because of another waterfall further down the river called the Slug of Achrannie.
The car parking area is at the Bridge of Craigisla, just off the B954 road as it heads north towards Glen Isla.
