Long Description:
This is a brick built accommodation bridge which takes a track over the canal. It is located on the Trent and Mersey Canal at Chells Hill. There is no access to the tow path at this bridge.

The bridge number 144 is on metal plaques set into the parapets above the arch on each side of the bridge.

There are moorings located near to this bridge and Chells Hill Farm. Just beyond the bridge, the canal crosses the B5078 on a high embankment and aqueduct.

'Chellshill Bridge No 144 is a minor waterways place on the Trent and Mersey Canal (Main Line - Harding's Wood to Middlewich) between Wharf Bridge No 154 (Wheelock ) (3 miles and ½ furlongs and 12 locks to the west) and Harding's Wood Junction (Junction of Trent and Mersey Canal and Hall Green Branch) (3 miles and 6½ furlongs and 14 locks to the southeast).' The first sod was cut by Josiah Wedgwood in July 1766 year Middleport, Stoke-on-Trent.
