The West Austin Antenna farm is located west of the Capital of Texas Highway in the Hill Country west of Austin. There are 2 TV towers there that are NGS benchmarks: BM0930 AUSTIN RAD KTBC FM AND 7 MAST and BM0931 AUSTIN RAD KHFI FM AND 42 MAST.
When I was a student at the University of Texas, I was one of the few students on my dorm floor with a TV: a 12-inch black and white that lost picture and broadcast CB radio transmissions from truckers going by on I-35. But it was in my dorm room, and we could drink beer while watching it, so I hosted all the get-togethers for football games, movies, TV shows, etc.
For New Beer Night (every Thursday) I hosted 3 friends for a couple 6-packs of an agreed-upon New Beer and the NBC-TV evining broadcast line-up of the Cosby Show, Family Ties, Cheers, Night Court and Hill Street Blues (I am dating myself).
Thank you college roommates Gladys, Toni, and Suzanne for putting up with all the company! I love you gals!!
The TV signals that we got on it (when we got them) came from the West Austin Antenna Farm, as did all the radio signals. I was partial to KLBJ-FM for music and of course me and 10-12 friends watched the Dallas Cowboys on TV while listening to the superior radio broadcast on KVET-AM.

"West Austin Antenna Farm (or WAAF) is an antenna farm on the west side of Austin, Texas near Loop 360 and Westlake Drive. It is used by stations such as KTBC and KXAN-TV.
Of the eight towers on the hill west of Austin, KXAN's tower is the tallest; it is also the tallest structure in Austin.
In addition to KXAN-TV antenna, the mast incorporates a camera with views of downtown to the east and the hills to the west."
